August 2009. Two species of coleopterans found infesting rice bran in a shipment from abroad were intercepted by plant quarantine in Trinidad and Tobago.
Both species are thought to be common storage pests. The first, the lesser grain borer (Rhizopertha dominica Fabricius, Bostrichidae, Coleoptera), and the second may be the small red flour beetle (Palorus sp., Tenebrionidae, Coleoptera).
