May 2012. An image of what appears to be papaya infested with mealybugs was sent to the University of Guam from the Marchall Islands, and appears here: guaminsects.myspecies.info/scale-insect-infesting-papaya-majuro-0
It was confirmed by a taxonomist in California that it is the Papaya mealybug, Paracoccus marginatus Williams Granara de Willink. There are no parasitised mealybugs in the material, although there were quite a few predatory dipteran larvae and coccinellid larvae in the samples.
