February 2014. A moth on mango from Maldives, sent by the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture. The larvae are about a cm in length and numerous, with white silky cocoons. There are no fruits on the mangoes yet, as they are at the flowering stage. There were so many caterpillars that they fell on people’s shirts as they walked under the trees. Very sticky webs were observed on the trees.
