November 2008. A request to identify the insect inside a guava fruit from India.

It was thought to be Anthonomus psidi damage (larval stage), but attack by this insect usually causes the fruit to drop when they are about an inch diameter. Check the fruit to see if there is a small black dot, which the females make when laying eggs.
