May 2005. The pictures are weevils and chafers that were intercepted in China from living palms imported from Korea and Thailand.
Only three sugggestions were given: Oryctes rhinoceros or similar species (middle row); palm weevil Rhynchophorus or close relative (bottom row) and Diplognatha gagates (two at top, right), a relatively common species widespread throughout sub-Saharan Africa. However, this identification is only provisory. There is need to see the profrons, mesotibia and the genitalia for a definite identification.
